How do you know that it's Prunus? Not trying to be a smarta$$ just want to know.

It was in Charleston (not a factor) but the bark and sap just screamed Prunus, and there were fruits all over the ground...

So it had the lenticels all over the bark? With bark like a wild cherry, or more like an ornamental?

Not smooth like Yoshino but not nearly as scaly as P. serotina. Let me hit Google maps and see if I can find its location.
