Treemotion Evo or Treemotion Pro?

Anyone have experience with the Evo and the newer Treemotion Pro? I’m retiring my Sequoia pretty soon and although I absolutely love the climbing in it, I want to try something new. Which one do you think is better? Any other saddles I should consider?

I had the 2018 and just got the pro, not to sure what the differences between the 2018 and evo are besides the double bridge.
Pro definitely has bigger more comfortable pads, my 2018 came with a bunch of loops already installed and bungee to make more, pro came with some small not awesome seeming cord and no loops pre-done. I don't like the lack of a rear life support ring, I liked to have it as an option and like one of the other members pointed out it was a nice feature to have if a rescue was necessary. I obviously didn't use the ring on the back for life support but it was a nice feature that we can't really add ourselves and made for a really nice saw hanger not having it is my single biggest gripe with the pro I feel like they cheaped out on this.
The elastic positioning straps for the waist and legs are really nice to have imo, I think they could've made the ones on the legs a little bigger I've got tons of room on the regular straps but am maxed out on the elastic, I'm like 185lbs and almost 6"2 and wear a 33 waist pant I don't have what I'd call massive legs either.
My 2018 came with an extra replacement bridge, the pro didn't even come with 2, but thank God they included a screw driver for the rings I'm sure I didn't have like 5 of those laying around.
Bottom line it's a nicer saddle with some upgrades but also some take aways, I don't think making the pads a little bigger really costs them anything significant certainly not 100$ extra in manufacturing especially considering the stuff they don't give you, I feel like they really cheaped out a bit on the takeaways. I've only done a few days on my pro now so looking forward to breaking it in a little bit and really getting the adjustments dialed in.
 
Oh I will add the treerex is worth checking out as well, I got a really good deal from a member here on one for a friend it's a very well built and thought out saddle, I'd be happy to climb on one of those as well.
 
I am thoroughly enjoying the treeaustria pro. The back pad can't be beat. The waist buckle creeps minimally, but that's because I wear suspenders, so it doesn't see much tension. Before I installed the suspenders, it worked well.

My gripe is with the accessory loops. They're stiff, and their placement doesn't suit my storage style. That said, I've been able to manage with them.

LOVE the webbing bridge. Bomber. The soft lower Ds are nice, too, after I adjusted to them.

I believe the story is that Treemagineers is not (falling out?) working with Teufelberger anymore. The new Pro and Essential are not designed with the Treemagineers. Treemagineers are only working with DMM to continue making their own Treemotion.

I can’t find any info on this. Can you send a link? DMM is one of my favorite companies, if they’re making a high end saddle I’ll definitely wait for it!
But doesn’t the treemotion pro already have DMM hardware? Like the rings?

I was surprised by some wire gate carabiner break tests by HowNot2. Out of 12 carabiners linked together chain fashion, the DMM was the second one to break. Outlasted by many cheaper carabiners. Not really a scientific test, but interesting nevertheless.

The video is kinda boring, but here are the results:

RBS = force to break it. Also interesting that the Camp broke at about 1/2 it's rated strength on the 4th pull.
 
If you follow the Splice Witch on Instagram she had an interesting post recently about metallic properties, cycles to failure and the phenomenon of things breaking well below rated strength when loaded beyond safe WLL repeatedly. I'll try to link to it.

did she mention anything besides „stay within the wll of your hardware“?

That’s interesting, I’d like to see a break test for their life support carabiners. I’d actually like to see a break test for all my climbing gear… it’s kind of surprising how few break test videos there are. At least I can’t find many.

I know this is a thread derail, but can you link the video? I hate Camp photons, they have weak gate springs, and don't always close completely, wonder if that contributed to the low break strength.
