Tree Worker Dies after fall from Tree in Millburn
MILLBURN, NJ – A 45-year-old Bound Brook man was pronounced dead after he fell from a tree he was trimming in Millburn. Elides Urena was trimming a tree in the side yard of a Taylor Road residence on Sept. 30 at 10:50 a.m. when he fell approximately 50 feet to the ground. Urena had climbed a tree and had been cutting tree limbs while workers on the ground were feeding the cut limbs into a chipper. Police officers performed CPR on Urena but he was unresponsive. The Millburn Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad and medics arrived on the scene and Urena was transported to Saint Barnabas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 11:35 a.m. The cause of the fall has not been determined. A representative of O.S.H.A. responded to the scene. The Millburn Police Detective Bureau is also investigating.
