Tree Infested with bugs and stripped bark! Please help!

Water and mulch. Basically get it to bump up in growth rates so it can callus over the damage you did

I have mulch and water. How should I apply?

Spread the mulch in a circular fashion around the base of the tree keeping it thin where it contacts the trunk to about 1/2 thickness. Soak and give it time.

Thank you for the welcome. I am definitely not a tree climber, for a long time although I have done some rock climbing in the past.
