Tree Climber's CHINESE Edition!

Re: Tree Climber\'s CHINESE Edition!

You know Mark, I consider myself to be a fairly intelligent man, but anybody who can make sense of that "alphabet" is leaps and bounds over my head.

Re: Tree Climber\'s CHINESE Edition!

That's fantastic, Id love to hear more background on this. What organizations sponsored this and how did it get started? I work with a non-profit called TreeFolks here in Austin and we've been interested in finding a sister city in a foreign country for a while now.

Re: Tree Climber\'s CHINESE Edition!

The amount of work they did to isolate, protect and preserve those large trees while construction occurs speaks well of how much they value their trees.

Re: Tree Climber\'s CHINESE Edition!

Nice to see some good quality USA books being used over in China.

Do they have access to purchasing US made equipment too? Or do they make their own gear.

Re: Tree Climber\'s CHINESE Edition!

I have to clarify the announcement here... it is the "Tree Climbers' Guide; Chinese First Edition" (translation of the third edition) The significance is that this is already being used to enable Chinese climbers to prep and take part in the examination to become Certified Tree Worker/Climber
Specialists!

Re: Tree Climber\'s CHINESE Edition!

Speaking of equipment available in Asia... yes the USA equipment is available more and more as I personally use and market it for various companies... there is some history in Hong Kong of people aquiring their equipment in Australia and the UK... but you know people want what they see and know so I am careful to use the top products... although I feel it is important to adapt the expensive easily worn items to "simpler and cheaper" for the sake of helping reduce the climbers' cost (like tying fisherman notes instead of using eyes, it works)
