This is a more complex version of what we use, for lowering anyway, not tying in. We have an 8" aluminum cleat bolted to the square tubing trailer hitch. I've never used a GCRS type system, but this works pretty well for lowering heavy limbs, pulling large limbs up, pulling spars over, etc.
