Posting for a friend, but he's looking to change the hydro filter after some erratic behavior from the lift.
The lift was working correctly and suddenly started doing 2-3 movements when he only called for one. Many suggestions on what could possibly be the problem, stuck solenoids, relays, weak hydro pump...
A clogged filter could mimic a weak pump and is a cheaper/easier repair. At my suggestion he ran the lift without the filter for a few minutes for diagnosis purposes and discovered that his control issues went away and the lift seemed to function faster than it had been.
We are having trouble finding a replacement filter. The local vermeer dealer who sold him the lift does not have one in stock and doesn't seem to think that they can get one. Additionally he said that there were some particles on the filter (I haven't seen it, so I'm not sure what it had captured) but I suggested a hydro fluid change while he is at it. The manual says to use Shell Hydrol DO 22, but that fluid and an equivalent seems hard to come by. The vermeer dealer stated that if they were servicing it, they would use iso 68 as all vermeer machines use.
Thoughts on using that hydro fluid? Anyone else running this lift that has run into these issues? I'll include a pic of the filter, however it's a little hard to read
I am unsure of the hours on the machine. He is the original owner although it was a demo unit and he has had the lift for over a year at this point.
