T.B. like Facebook?

The whole like and rep thing at AS was a backscratching scam;better now but not much.

Agree upgrade very much needed, and agree too few post, but 'likes" won't change that, stepping up will.

I'd have real trouble posting in Danish. the real question is, how to get more lurkers out of the closet?

I agree the software of the forum is (very) outdated. The main problem, though, and one of the problems with the redundancy of the forum is simply the TERRIBLE search function in this software. It's no wonder the same questions keep getting asked over and over-it's impossible to find the answers in the past history of the Buzz.

I dream of an Arborist's Wikipedia. The more I learn about tree care the less I realize I know, and if we can consolidate all the little bits of information we all have into one resource, well, that's a buzz worth sharing. Anyone in?

And speaking of Buzz, happy fourth all. Have a day independent from worries and hassles.

Tim

One thing I've learned about change... Expect opposition. I'm all ears when someone is willing to stick their neck out to make something better or more efficient. I'm not sure what the sacrifice would be to Tom and Mark but I gotta believe they'll be watching this thread closely. Hat's off to you Jamin.

Thanks Jim. And that's sort of the road I was going down. I'm not suggesing a total change over to be a mere replica of F.B. (Goodness No!).

I just think the user interface on T.B. could be improved. And if there is a way to make it more effecient besides going down the F.B. road, then great.

I have chosen not to visit A.S. for many years. It sounds like they've made some changes. Good for them.

Jamin is no longer allowed to post since he questioned our site performance and is now banned!

Seriously, Tom and I have been looking at upgrades for a long long time now, but are not 100% impressed with the VBulletin software or the newest Threads versions. We are always open to suggestions if anyone has found a software worth looking at or if you would like to see what I have been looking at.

I like change myself, but I don't like upgrading just to upgrade and then find out that we lost some of the features that we really enjoyed. By all means, anyone interested in looking around for something better just let us know! Thanks for caring enough about TreeBuzz to make it what it is today and to want to take it further.
