*** STOLEN Woodsman 12X CHIPPER ***

My chipper was stolen from our yard space in northeast Minneapolis, MN. The unit was taken sometime between January 30th and February 2nd. It is a yellow 2006 Woodsman 12X with a John Deere engine. Normal wear and tear except the battery box is bent. Some welding on tailgate is primer painted only. We have no clues. The thieves drove into a busy yard, hooked up to the chipper and drove away. We are offering a $500 dollar reward to anyone that helps us find the unit. Thanks for any help.

Thanks hopper. Our hope is that with the incredible speed of the internet and growth of social networking, someone, somewhere will see something. I mean, how do you hide an 8,000 lb chipper? Since the buzz is worldwide maybe we can move faster than the thieves. Just trying to think positive.

Got any pictures of said chipper we could pass around? I can't believe the audacity. That is a busy and seemingly secure yard, I hate to think it may have been someone who knows your work habits, knows when is a good time to get in and out without being caught. Why was it not on the truck!?

Once at a motel I saw a little 6" Vermeer all painted black and I thought that was a peculiar choice for a paint job unless the thing was maybe stolen? Unfortunately I didn't have time to play chipper detective. I'll definitely watch for yours though.

Check the Craigslist ads: wood chippers for sale. I doubt anyone would be dumb enough to keep and use a stolen chipper. Dang what a bummer!

Oh, Geo, that stinks. I feel your pain. We never recovered our Vermeer 1000XL when it was stolen. Probably in some barn in North Dakota by now...hope you had "replacement value" insurance, not just current value insurance.
That really stinks.

george I live just south of you. I just saw a yellow chipper sitting behind some rental storage sheds the other day in the outskirts of Lakeville. Ill drive up and check it out this weekend for you and call you if it looks like it.

That sucks. Ive had several things stolen over the years.
Its awesome how this treebuzz community pulls together to help another out.
