Stihl MS-200T versus Jonsered CS 2139 T

I just sold my Stihl MS 192 T. About to buy either a Stihl MS-200T or perhaps the Jonsered CS 2139 T.

On paper, the Jonsered looks like a better saw. Lighter, more power (by .2 HP), has the "turbo" air pre-cleaner...

I know what the 200T is all about, but I've never even seen a CS 2139 T. Any fans of this saw out there?

The other thing is that the Jonsered is a solid $200 less expensive than the Stihl.

Thanks guys and gals!

I have a medium Jonsered cant recall the model i'll have to go out in the shop and check. I purchased it about eight years ago and havent had a bit of trouble out of it. I can tell you it's pretty much a husky. It even has Husky stamped on some internal parts. If the saw you are talking about is similar to a husky 335 or 338 I wouldent buy it. The county I work for has several 338 and 335 saws and thay have given us nothing bu trouble, have tarable air filter set ups and are in my opinion under powered. Thay dont compair to my personal ms 200 t. The 200t is again in my opinion worth the extra price tag and alitle extra weight. Good luck.

I run a 2139T, and I absolutely love it.

Or is it a Tilton - an italian company that makes thousands of cheap generic saws for stick-on labels that end-up at the big box stores?

Tilton is the regional importer of Jonsered saws. Tilton does not make saws.

wilson, I've run the 335's longer than you, as I got them when they were introduced. It took Husky a long time, and several trys and improvements, but today's iteration has all the bugs worked out. They have no more oiler issues, have a long lasting trouble free motor now, start, run, and idle well. Only minor nag is they still require a quick choke even when shut off for as little as about 2 minutes.

The 200T is a bit better balanced, true, and normally reliable. Nice and high revving, but less torque than the new 38 cc Swede saws. Port the muffler and the saw eats 200T's alive. The 200T also runs higher rpm's, and lean, so care must be taken to have them set right, or longevity can be an issue.
The Swedes have a far better lanyard attachment point, a better shape to slip through the canopy, and are a tad lighter.

And my last 2139T cost me $350!!!
