Is there a way to obtain any of these from US suppliers?

I purchased a pair of the Steins for my foreman at TCI Expo, and the bank statement reads "Stein USA." The pants don't appear to be available on Stein USA's website, nor are the other brands available through any of the above US websites for that matter, just UK and Euro.

Is it as simple as the UL testing issue?

Thanks for any insight,

-Tom

Hey Tom,

Hopefully this isn't a derail. Were they the "Revolution" pant? If so any feedback on the pant would be great. I was looking at them on the honeybros site. Interesting to hear how they are climbing and temperature wise.

Dark color, plenty long with adjustable cuff at ankle, breathable hidden gaiter for saw chips n snow, 4 way stretch, water repel, moisture wick, gusseted for the boys, articulated in the knee, at least 1 if not 2 thigh pockets that have a flap over for no saw chips, mesh hip pockets w zip or flap (again for no chips), mesh vent at thighs (no chips), hot muff/ Sharp saw snag protection on right leg, @ $200 AND they don't look like I painted them on or not too bulky. Just a relaxed comfortable fit. Feel like pj's, but protect like, like some kind of invisible force field. My $.02. 34/34.

I bought pants from Stein at the Hartford TCI and if I am not Mistaken call Stein and ask for Michelle, I believe that was the woman you purchased from. She should be able to help you, and yes in the states. Let me know how things work out.

I don't think they are the Revolution pants, but I'm not 100%. Fellow Buzzer Banjo can give you a review, although I don't think temperature has really come into play yet since Expo.

Stihl Hi Flex pants are the shizznittle. I've had a pair of gladiators and recently bought the hi flex and oregons waipou trousers while I was in London. The stihls are super light and comfy. The oregons are fairly light, but not stretchy enough for me, but considerably cheaper. Both feel considerably lighter than the gladiators and much cheaper. As of now, I will only buy the stihls from now on.

Hey Niceviews,

Are the hiflex a tight fitting pant or relaxed fitting pant? The few pics I've seen the guys looked like they just came from the disco. They were big dudes.

The stihl hi flex are definitely closer fitting, but not tight. They are super stretchy and feel more like some awesome sweatpants. I'm not a tiny guy, 6'2" 190 lbs and I love the way the fit. Hope that helps.

Tom I thought she only had the Gladiators there @ the expo? She told me they would be coming out with and selling the Stein pants early this year.

Man I've been trying to get my hands on those Stein trousers for a year now. I didn't know they'd be at the TCI Expo. I don't know of a US supplier and as stated earlier it may be because of the UL listing. I could NOT feel bad about wearing them if they didn't carry a listing although I realize that could implicate an employer in an accident. Drag if I wore them on the job, just proud as a peacock, only to cut myself, bleed out and have an investigation reveal that I wasn't wearing approved gear. "Um, Mr. Davis have you ever heard of United Labratories?"

They weren't stein, they were pfanners that we got from the stein folks. The guy I talked to said the stein chainsaw pants were going into production soon.

OK, so they were not the Steins, they were the Stretch Air chainsaw trousers. So ya CAN'T get the Euro gear in the US after all.

I sure wish we had as many options as they do 'cross the pond. :(
