So you think you are good with a saw?

My wife just showed me this on FB. I despise FB, but this was worth it.
Do any of you out there do any carving. It would be way cooler then stump grinding.

The only time I saw it done in person, the artist was using a stihl corded electronic saw. It was indoors in a studio, so the cord made sence.
I bet I could get pretty artsy with a 150.

The 150 is great for carving... Its one of the first things I did with it, when I bought it. I had it in my truck, and wanted to fire it up and cut something. I looked over at a firewood pile, and made a bowl... Sanding is a pain in the ass though...

I've tried my hand at two carvings, this is the second one I did. It's neat to do, but I haven't tried any in the last two years or so. They make specialized bars for getting better detail, but the majority of this was done with regular a ms-180c

I've suggested to a couple of customers that they do a chainsaw carving out of the remaining spar, one dud it, had me leave 15' of spruce , there's now a nice big bald eagle sitting on top of it we are fortunate enough to have a world champion chainsaw carver in our county
