snow weight on limbs video

From the Lake Tahoe area, this is a time lapse video taken by some random dude which records the snows of this past March.

I think that the most interesting part is watching the branches go up and down with the snow weight - lots of movement! the snow really comes about 2/3 of the way though the month.

What a nightmare. I felt like I was in The Shining. Halfway through the video I attacked my bathroom door with a fire axe.

this is the trees defense against the snow . droop down and let the snow slide off thus decreasing the weight . pines will also lose a branch from this activity , another defense . common on white pines where i am from . really looks like a beautiful place you are at .
