Singing Tree Rope Wrench

Very Nice!!!! Looking forward to checking this one out. The simplicity is what I love about your ingenuity. Bravo bro

That is a great idea!!!!! That solves the problem I had with this particular system, in that I could not easily change from ascent to descent and vise versa. Do you want to try and make it out of brazilian ipe? I have a board I could cut a couple pieces out of. Ipe is very strong and dense and should hold up real well. You might be able to go with smaller dimensions with it. Let me know, Lonnie

Kevin, I know I am late in saying this, but dude, who would have ever guessed the answer to one of the biggest problems facing the srt method was so freakin simple!? Awesome! You should be given one of those lifetime arborist awards or something. I'm not kidding either and screw anyone that scoffs at the notion. best thing since the micro-pulley or whatever anyone's favorite talisman might be. And how great is it, that the tool that has made climbing trees almost brand new to me again, is made out of the tree itself!? Brilliant.

Kevin, do you have some made for sale?

I'm getting some jobs completed, and would be interested to buy a basic one. I appreciate the sharing of the knowledge. I know that the Fate/Feight system has been a huge help to efficiency.

I have custom hand made models for sale yes. The wait time might be a little but If you send me a check I will get started on a custom model for you. I will hopefully get a manufacturing process down soon. But I can get you a model that works.

Yes I will be in Pittsburgh. Im hopeing to get the thing down to $50. I expect it will go through various permutations. Did some filming the other day of me climbing with it. Still need to get a helmet cam.

I hope it's appropriate to ask this question here and it's not a derail...

You guys who use this system, what hitches have you tried in the setup, and how do they perform? I think I've seen that treebing uses a Vt...Anybody run this setup with a distel or swabisch? Does it work?

Any hitch will work, I like heat resistant cord. and I personally like the speed and simplicity of a VT. Its whatever feel you like though, I find the other hitches too sticky, but if you like, you could use a taught line with a 16 strand split tail...

Love it Kevin, Looks like you changed the design just slightly. Takes a bigger bight and adds a little more friction. Looks GREAT!
