Samson ice tail eye2eyes

Got some Samson ice to make some hitch cords for different stuff. Was planning on some lockkng brummels, but there is a core of some sort and I wanted to confirm what's going on. I'm assuming that helps it have a round feel to it as rope? If I'm splicing this stuff, can i pull this core and then splice as a standard hollow braid?

Sometimes they put a core in icetail and tenex for sewn hitch cords. It gives roundness and more material for the stitching to "bite" to. It is a COVER dependent rope. Ditch the core, and brummel with long tails that cross over. Down load samsons splicing instructions. its tricky to figure out overall eye to eye length as it shrinks when you burry the tails, otherwise very easy splice
