What?? No chrome wheels on the chipper??? Job isn't complete!! Just kidding, sharp looking rig. Definitely an eye-catcher.

I have about $14k total into the truck. That includes the cost of the mini skid platform and ramps fabrication work as well as the new toolboxes around. I think a total breakdown would be:

cost of truck: $5000
fab work and toolboxes: $4250
paint (pro job): $3500
Decals (installed myself): $750
Chrome simulators: $500

Total: $14000

Chipper cost me $13k. Paint and graphics was about $2k so I have about $15 total into it.

I actually looked for chrome simulators and couldn't find any. Then tried to find chrome rims and , after learning the price, just said the hell with it and painted them black. LOL

That mini skid platform is the best part of the truck. works great and saves another vehicle hauling the mini.

Looks quite eye catching ! Gives me some ideas, hope you don't mind.

Nicely done, was there a reason you put the ramps for the mini skid on the driver's side instead of the passenger's?

Putting the ramps on the passenger side would mean unloading the mini onto residential lawns which I didn't want. Unloading into the street, while not a great option, is the better of the two. I just cone off the area to divert traffic around the ramps and immediate area then fold the ramps back up right away.

Thanks for all the kind words about the truck. IMO, I think the truck is easily worth $5k more than what I now have into it.

Having both sides fold down would have been real handy too.
Also you can always unload it right at the driveway, then move the truck up a bit.

All in all, a very nice rig, i'm not up with US equipment values but i'd agree you added more value than you spent.

Ya but your not always going to have a lawn or somewhere to put it down. Your always going to have the road you drove your truck on. Even if it is going to be a pain to stop traffic and unload it. Its a better option than off loading it into a ditch or parking facing the wrong way on the street.

I'm curious as to how soon the rust will show through that paint job. From your pictures, the truck looks absolutely perfect, well worth the money. How will it look in 2 years?

Super great place to store the loader. Really makes me want to do exactly what you did with an old asplundh truck. But being so far north, the conditions lead to a rust fest always.
