When in the footlocking event could a person footlock up a single line? Or does it have to be doubled?

I looked through the rule book and couldn't find anything.

SECURED FOOTLOCK Event Summary
The Secured Footlock measures the contestant’s ability to perform a vertical ascent into a tree using a Prusik hitch or other approved friction hitch for fall protection and the footlock rope-climbing method on a doubled climbing line.


This has come up at the ITCC in the event go throughs about every other year or so!
