ramps for mini skid

That gmc I was talking about has a little over 8 ft between the chip box and the cab. How wide did your platform end up? I'm thinking I might be able to ad on to the front of the chip box for a 15' box. 33,000 lb truck should be able to haul the weight. Its kinda long so backing into some driveways would be out but o can always use out regular cab f550 for that.

A lot of times there are things that seem ok but end up not. Loading 44” on ramps can be the same. I wasn’t unloading off the truck but this is costing us a week and a half without the truck just by unloading off a trailer on a hill. We all can have brain fog!

No mater what or how you are loading care must be taken, every precaution must be taken and even then $hit can still go wrong. SO BE CAREFUL! Low and slow the first time!
We had a 50 or 60’ man lift delivered by the local rental company once and the driver unloaded on hill. He got the unit to the back of the lowbed and the truck took off down the hill, I sprinted and caught up to it and then it was like one of those old westerns where the cowboy runs along side of the train and jumps on, got it stopped, that poor guy was still in the basket white knuckling the rail.

I rented a teupen tracked lift about 5 years ago. Hauled it with my utility trailer. Unloaded it on a hill (truck facing uphill). You had to be in the basket to drive the lift. I’m unloading and the back of the truck lifts up and everything starts sliding downhill towards a parked car 20ft away. I got lucky that I acted fast and drove the lift back onto the trailer to set everything back down and stop the sliding about 10 feet from the car. Lol! Nerve racking!!

That’s exciting! I’ve done similar with a pickup pulling a skidloader, it is scary. Worst one was on ice, I had to get a running start to get up the ramp before the loader pushed the truck all the way across the street!
