While I understand that every tool has a right job and then jobs it can handle gets me wondering some times.
Often to improve on a less than ideal site you want to basically aerate, amend, improve the site. Ignoring SGRs, deadwood, etc.
So let’s say compaction and soil quality are our 2 main problems. We spec 4-6” mulch to breakdown and regulate the root zone when we’re done but first addressing the issue.
Why/ when/ how do you choose between: air-spade and return a compost triple mix prescription
Vertical mulching and return a compost triple mix prescription
Deep root water injection 12” below grade with Myke or fertilizer with enough pressure to lift and loosen the ground
If you look at the problem any one of these techniques would work to make an improvement.
What are your thoughts?
