Problems with zigzag and flow 11.6 mm

I weigh about 170 with all my gear on, and have the same setup for drt, the zig zag and flow rope. Works amazing for me, whether Im over a natural crotch or in a friction saver.. I never washed my rope either. Something definitely isn't right with your zig zag. I'd try to return it.

After reading your post it has got me to thinking about something again what are the weather conditions where you're at is it a very humid hot environment or are you further Inland where it's much dryer with much lower humidity I had already been contemplating if the local weather conditions could have something to do with my problem I live in a very hot and humid environment and I was thinking that maybe the humidity was swelling my rope to the point it became spongy and slick

The reason for my questions I'm trying to eliminate the local environment as the cause because if it is the local environment causing it if I exchange mine for another one just like it I will end up with the same results

I'm in southern Oregon, definitely not humid, but it gets hot (100+ during summer). I can't really see the humidity being the reason, since I've climbed on it in the rain as well with no issues.

I know humidity will do strange things to rope like with the old true blue from Samson the humidity here in the summer will unbraid the Rope as crazy as that sounds it's true if you leaving piece of True Blue outside for 48 hours and go back to it you will see that the braid is starting to separate the entire length of the Rope and the ends will be opening up no matter how good you burn the ends or whip them they will start coming undone and you can see the on the entire length of the Rope separation in the strands

Glad I could give you a laugh but anytime you want to come down to Arkansas and learn what humidity is I'll give you a place to stay from mid-april till mid September we don't see less than 80% humidity during the day usually in the 90% range with Temps in the 90s and low 100s then at night it drops to 20 to 30% so the Rope is steadily expanding and Contracting last year we didn't see heat index below 100 from the end of June till the beginning of September most of those days the heat index was 105 or better

Relax brother....it's all good. I get that humidity too. I've just never seen or heard of this.
Either way the weather shouldn't effect the zig zag so much that it doesn't work right.
Petzl designed it to work in all the conditions that we do...I believe.
Maybe just stick to hitch cords man. I've been able to make those work just as good as my mechanicals and I still use them the most...

On the humidity affecting the true blue that's the only rope I've seen it happen to I called Samson about it and they said that it was the humidity that was doing it and offered some tips on how to prevent but said the only way they can fix the problem would make the Rope a lot stiffer

X2 on the advice to wash or otherwise break in the rope. I have two ZZ's and weigh roughly the same as you. The only times I had very minor issues at all was when several of my ropes were brand spanking new and had some sort of oil or coating on them from the manufacturing process. I have a BDB also, and the same two ropes slipped a bit on that when new.

I washed the Rope yesterday and it's been drying and I finally had time to mess with it after washing and it got a lot better but there were still quite a few times that it didn't quite do like it should
