Petzl "Eashook open" is out

A swivel version would be nice.

Howie, how do you like the Adjust? If you place something, like a wood disc on top of the Adjust, it will provide extra leverage when descending.

The lack of shrink tube and the atypical way the the stitches are slanted on the black rope, leads me to believe that you hand sew your eyes?

Thanks

I have one Adjust on my adjustable rope bridge (Petzl too) and a second one on a rejected 2nd rope bridge witch I use now like a "Progress-Adjust-I". Had to reject it as bridge because I damaged it on one side with the hand saw.

With an Adjust I only did shorten the lengths under load and never tried to descend with one.

And the sewn eyes are original Petz and both of my rope bridges came without shrink tube.

Do you remember if the stitches were slanted when it was new, if they are slanted? I'm, maybe, being optically deluded by the picture.

Yes you are right the stitches of the older bridge are slanted in the meanwhile. The stitches of the newer one are still straight and obviously there was some movement at the older one. Should I be worried about?

I made the photo from the side of the Adjust which of course sees no load. On the other side the stitches of the newer bridge also started to get slanted but much less than at the older one.

If the stitches are shifting, that might mean there isn't any compression between the two sections of rope, and now, it is only being held together by the strength of the stitches. I've read of others not being pleased with the quality of Petzl's sewing on the Adjust bridges. They use dyneema thread, maybe that has something to do with it.

Try to shift the stitches back the opposite way to see how much, if any movement there is.

Thank you for your advice. Because this bridge is already rejected and one of the sewn eyes had to cut off before due to the disaster with the hand saw I decided to go the fast and easy way. I removed also the second sewn eye and tied a double overhand noose instead. Problem solved ;)

Of course I will check the new bridge frequently if the stitches are coming loose the same way. If yes, then it's definitely time to contact Petzl.
