It really was awesome. The tree was a challenging white oak. The temperatures hit the 90's.
The top two were absolute machines. Very skilled, very professional, very fast. I'm sure the judges were splitting hairs on their scores. Number 3 is my coworker, and it was his first time in the masters...He was so nervous, got his throwline stuck on the first throw, then brought it all into that perfect zone of focus and destroyed the climb. There were some other good performances as well.

Rob great job setting up and tearing down . The comp was close , Gareth nailed the top crotch on his first shot , killed the climb and than had a birds nest coming out of the tree . Derrick hit his second shot and killed it too . The difference was .04 in scoring . Two great climbs , other climbers spent too much time on the ground messing with the throw line. George , crushed the climb , nothing fancy but was on the ground putting his lines back in his bags with 7 minutes left , cleaned his plate with the small crowd screaming for him to just pull his crap out . George took his time , put it all back as he pulled it out . Derrick had the nicest redirect of the day . I was judging , talking with the other judge , Derrick had seven minutes left ( 25) he was fking around up top with his redirect on the third bell , I said he won't finish . Six minutes left he was on the ground . he did the third and fourth bell and got on the ground in a minute . I've been to a lot of comps . That was one of the best moves I've seen at any level , even at work . Gareth is going to be ready , let the games begin .
