pantin

had a few minutes to look at it today,,we met over 6 years ago/ its been a slap it on the boot type of relationship,, she needed work early on, was slipping at the heel,, but wasn;t anyting a little tape could fix,, i noticed today that the heel is loaded with sap,,the webbing was kinda beat up, the bright green color from the factory, is faded with scratches from i have no idea where, and the spring action seems just fine /. this thing has been on every climb that didnt need spikes,, "SET IT AND FORGET IT" i am the type of climber that foot locks on two pieces of rope to the top swithces and then goes down the prune, but if i ever have to go back UP 12-40ft she has been there, WHO HAS MAD LOVE FOR THEIR PANTIN<< thank you petzel..

Mine has been faithful since the first day they were on the market.

I just sewed new webbing for the stirrup. The webbing came from the chin strap of a retired Petzl helmet. Kind of a nice circle there.

Got mine 2 weeks ago for my SRT set up. We had a truck SRT set up, but I just had to have my own. Didn't want no one elses boots in it but mine :)

I tell everyone who is doubtful of its usefulness that it is quite possibly the best money I ever spent on tree gear. Ever!

If I ever lost it, id have a new one ordered by that night.

Mine was a tempermental biotch until steve at Geezers explained to me that she belongs on my right foot and not my left. now she is as sweet as can be.

let that be a lesson to you guys, never ever try to make a right leaner go left!

Rick, read the directions! BYW, have a new grandaughter! In NY now with her and big brother (mom and dad too) til the end of the month. Don't think I'll get up this time.

Bought a right and a left; kept the right, gave the left to a friend as a gift for showing me up a few Coast Redwoods.

Then bought a used one from someone here, took off the strap and use that for the ascender by my left knee for a ropewalker setup.

Now I have the rope wrench and right foot Pantin and life is good.

Since I first started using a Pantin I have told people that I thought it is one of the must have items for climbing trees. Especially when it comes to making the work easier on the body. It is the only piece of climbing gear that is so much a part of me and my tree attire that many times I have worn it all day, in the grocery store, at the dinner table, only to take it off when the boots come off.

right there w/you bro. i put it on first thing in the morning and the only time it comes off is to do a take-down, then right back on it goes. that little click-clank sound in my step has become all to familiar.

I took my pantin and boot to a shoe repair shop and got them to sew my pantin on to my boot. I hated it flopping around and having to retighten it all the time. Best 10 dollars I have spent in a long time. Although I did have to buy another pair of boots for the ground working days.
