Experience Req: Relevant course work or 1 season working in Green Industry
Other Requirements: 18+ with Valid driver's license
Pay rate: $18.50/hr

Newton Cemetery & Arboretum is looking for a seasonal grounds person to work with our Lead Arborist in caring for our 2000+ trees and nearly 100 acres of managed landscapes and gardens. Duties include: planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, watering, removals, air spade, and IPM monitoring. Our departments are tasked with keeping this active cemetery and Level II Arboretum in pristine condition for our visitors and families.

What have some of your seasonal workers done during the off season in the Past ?

Depending on the individual some of our seasonal crew collect unemployment, other get holiday seasonal jobs in their local communities, some of our crew are from other countries and use that time to go home for the cold months. There is also a chance that there would be an over-winter position available in our Greenhouse department, but that is highly dependent on our budget since we are a non-profit.
