What's happening in Chicago? I have an upcoming family visit. If there is tree stuff going on, I don't want to miss out.

Oh, I forgot to say who the winners were at the Asia-Pacific competition...the absolutely superb Chrissy Spence took out the women's title, and fellow New Zealander James Kilpatrick took the men's.

that's awesome! It looks to me like she is wearing a treemotion without a separate fall arrest harness over it. is the rear attachment on the TM rated for fall arrest suspenders in the footlocking portion of comps? my rear attachment is rated to 1kn. or is there another set up that I am unaware of being used here.

No, a full-body Petzl harness was used. Maybe you looked at the wrong video, as there is some old footlock footage on the website from last year's Waikato regional where everyone had to use their own harnesses - since someone had nicked the full-body ones at a previous comp. In that case, the belay line was tucked down the back of the harness and then bought up and around, and clipped back onto itself. Quite uncomfortable, and probably not something that the ITCC rules committee would sanction.

That is a creative way of working with what you have though. Thanks for the clarification. That was the picture I was looking at. I need to go practice my footlock!
