New TCC event-Charlotte TCC

how high up is it? do you start attached to the rope or outside the ring? do you switch over to decent mode before time stops? any style/safety points?

Hey Colin, Missed you in Charlotte this year. The height was the same for either technique, 15 meters. Rumor of mechanical being higher next year. Fastest time won, no other points that I am aware of. Kevin won with something close to 13 seconds.

Pure skill, technique, dedication and WORK! Normally ascent events yell and scream to encourage a climber to advance and keep their groove once in it. After Kevins first two lunges on the rope the crowd went almost totally silent. It was that beautiful. And he debuted his Rope Runner!

We also established that the climbers lowest foot could be no more than 6" off the ground before launch

Frog walker...with a heck tether to tend the Rope Runner.

Nice n smooth. Kevin had his system dialed in nicely.

A lot of the SRT climbers had things dialed in for smooth ascents. The next time GUTSS is run we'll track the ascent system that the climber used. When we have those numbers it will be interesting to compare the times.

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to use the physio/cardio test equipment that John Ball used for his tests to find out how effecient SRT is compared to FL?

Rope Runner?????? Kevin please show and tell!

Great idea for this event guys, glad it wet well. Were there folks who still chose to footlock as well?
