New stumpers

has anyone out there owned a bandit 2890 ? We have always ran Rayco stumpers and still have 9 of them but due to dealer support and price we are looking for different options, but I would like a machine to grind to a minimum depth of 21 inch.we need that as most contracts now call for that? I seen landmark machinery has a few 2890's but I don't know much about them as a dealership?i would also consider a good rg90 or other good used unit doesn't have to be new.

21" depth in one shot is tough, I've never had a contract that deep unless it was excavation.

The RG85 was a good machine, from it I went to a Carlton 7015, but that will leave you quite far from your spec. I left Rayco because of dealer support (non existent support, but had to deal through them anyways) mainly.

Are these residential/commercial stumps or industrial/sight clearing? I understand it can be a range.

We run 9 stump crews mostly municipal but we use them in our residential compliment as well, have been all rayco but having same problem with support

We have a 2012 Bandit 2900t with the all hydro head no belts at all. Hands down best grinder to buy with the revolution wheel. Mine is remote control and I would never go back to the carlton 7015. Call Modern in Bristol Pa ask for Ron Dortone and see what he has for sale. Joe Heiler in their parts department is reliable and knowledgeable.

I wouldn't even look at the 2890, look at the 2900t if your doing a lot of municipal work. We run one and hands down is a beast. My municipal customers love it due to the depth, it cutter head swing arc and the fact it's on tracks. Ours has the 97hp Perkins and is full hydro.

Finally got my hands on the 2890 today ,I was very impressed ! I ground out a ash stump that was a 5 stem clump in total stump was 4ft x 7 1/2 ft and I buried it to 24 inch depth . Total time =35min

By far best machine I have run to date ,hope the life span is as good as our raycos

Eddie called a bunch of Us Morbark owners and a place in Burlingtons going to be it and he will be starting there shortly, forget the name though ?thing Utilities

The name is trenchless utility that is were Eddie was before and they were the rayco dealer that sold us all our rayco machines
