I recently had to go grab the RRP after giving it a test flight on a rec climb. It takes a minute to dial it in to your rope, and if has to be adjusted to each rope ( the only down side so far). Like any mechanical, it has a learning curve to the breaking point, and is very fast. It goes on and off rope almost as fast as the Akimbo, and is compact enough for spar work. I have not tried it yet in DdRT configuration, but I see it alot on the Instagram.

I have gotten my rrp to the sweet spot... I think. Have it dialed in perfectly on xstatic and close enough on blue moon. My blue moon ropes are shorter for smaller trees, xstatic for the big boys. I tried it one time briefly in mrs mode on the b moon without changing the bollard and it was very jerky. That didnt impress me but as I said one time very brief trial. Rico I think you would like it.

Luckily there is a public history of stiff tethers to reference that clearly shows we didn’t ‘copy’ anything from Reon. Lol

I don't know about the rest of you but I find a well dialed in Wrench set-up with a shorty tether to be the smoothest, sweetest, safest, most versatile, reliable and bulletproof SRT device of the market (thanks Kev) , and I find a well dialed in HC setup to be the smoothest, sweetest, safest, most versatile, reliable, and bulletproof DdRT device on the market...If that weren't enough one can easily bounce back and forth between SRT and DdRT mid-climb and you have a system that still remains king in my book..

This fusion tether appears to be one of those "the latest certainly ain't the greatest" products,. Sadly many will fall for the sales pitch believing that they must have this thing to be all they can be in a tree.....

I wasn’t referencing dropping anything when in the tree, but during the setup I was demonstrating. I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume that connecting all the junk at the bottom is fiddle for a lot of users, despite being a fairly rote task for expert users. Many times complicated setup is a turn off for new users.

I do apologize for coming down so hard on the fusion tether Nick. I understand why you guys made some of the design decisions you did, but I disagree with those decisions. I think the length of the fusion is gonna be the biggest turn-off with many working climbers. Any chance of a Shorty version if this thing in the future.. Their are legions of climbers who have moved on from longer hitches like the VT to shorter more compact hitches like the Michoacan or the Knut, and we demand and need a compact set-up....
 
Is this new tether mainly intended for those wanting a long tether to work well with a zigzag/rope wrench, rather than a zigzag/chicane, or is it primarily another stiff tether option for the wrench only? Has anyone dialed in this tether using a zigzag? Seems like a good option for rope wrench users wanting to replace the hitch tending pulley and hitch cord for a mechanical hitch. Maybe the zigzag prevents this with their proprietary carabiner hole, I'm not sure, but at the very least I'd like to see the zigzag become a good option for existing rope wrench users, with a suitably designed tether.

The pulley is integrated into the tether, making use with a zigzag a NO-GO..
