New Saddle

I've always had a versatile classic. I'm on my second one now. I like the bosun seat and the large back pad but think my back and I may be better off trying a floating bridge, the classic can be restricting some times. I've been looking at the edge with the bosun. It's a couple pounds lighter and a floating bridge. I'd be moving up to quick release buckles for the first time but they've been around for a while, it seems like the sport model of my saddle.

Does anyone know anything good or more importantly bad about the edge?

I contract climb for an outfit where both climbers rock the Edge with the seat. They both rave about them and have made the similar upgrade you have. Theyre pretty new, so, i dont know about durability. I personally have never used a bosun but love a rope bridge and will never go with out one. It seems if you're going lighter with quick buckles you might consider the Petzl Swing, gear racking is top notch on the Petzl saddles and they're offering an adjustable bridge soon too (I think). Have fun shopping!

Edge is a great saddle I use mine preatty much everyday as I am a floating climber between crews only down side to them is that the straps will loosen up on you till you get them broke in which take about a month

some of the new saddles with leg straps are very comfortable and feel similar to the Bosun seat, just with that little bit more mobility.
i went from the versitile classic to the ergo. sitting in the leg straps is not that different that the seat in my opinion

Sequoia swing, hmmmm....bought one a long time ago....what a piece of shit...the most uncomfortable saddle....I ever used...but hey I prefer leg loop saddles...I had a reg sequoia so when that died I just switched out the leg straps...and then sold that....

Leave the bosun seat behind and get a saddle with leg loops. It will be one of the best moves you have made in tree gear.

I climbed with a Buckingham traverse for years. No comparison to solid leg loop saddles. Comfort and mobility is greatly increased.

Tree motion is pricey but worth every penny imo. Ergovation is another good option.

I climbed in the first version of the edge for about a year and now I am in the Tree motion S light. I liked the edge but had a couple issues with it. It looks like the issues have been fixed in the new version but I haven't tried it.

The S Light is at great price point. I thought not having quick release buckles would be a pain but I hasn't, except when you have stepped in a "fresh one" walking into the back yard before putting it on.
