i think the ergonomics is on the side of the Kong, if we are talking about just ascentSRT. The Kong is designed to meet these ergonomics. The balanced, shared pull of 2 hands in almost innate chin'up position, padded and thicker(than rope), arms and then fingers sharing even loading etc. Makes it easier to keep higher cg of chest inline without roller, so that most force is headed upwards to target, rather than sideways to bring cg back inline with rope IMLHO.

The ad-on to keep debris out of the mechanics shows concern and monitoring of feedback, comments etc.
 
It basically says that its a fast way for double ascent.

New ascender made for arborist. Configured with safety in mind. Which prevents the rope from sliding out.

And also prevents branches from getting stuck in the cam.

the safty clip once in place will not allow the cams to open. Can not be forced open even by branches.

This has been out for a year now.
 
it comes as a whole new unit. It has a small cable like on a micro adcender to the clip. if you'd like to update the one you have just go to like agway or lowes and buy the clip cost like 50 cents. use throw string to tie it to the adcender.
 
If you are properly backing up your Kong, why do you even need to put the upgrade package on? I tie a blakes hitch above each line, tethered to my kongs. Plus, the blakes hitch acts as a stopper from stuff going into the cams.

Seems like a waste of money to me.
