new climbing pants

I hope you like them. I can't imagine any climbing pants being better than Arborwear and for more than $100 bucks more per pair. Let us know how you like them. I'll stick with Arborwear.
Phil

They are nice pants and fit very well but in my opinion a little tight fitting. Plus it's kind of hard to justify spending that kind of money on them right now when you can get a pair of chainsaw pants for about the same price.

My wife got them for me for christmas and I'm also having a hard time justifing the price, especially not being chainsaw protective. I'm also a big fan of arborwear. thanks for your responses, don't know if i'm going to keep them or not

I got to try my pair out today that I got for christmas and I love them. I thought the tech pants and they where pretty good but these don't even compare. But like you said still don't know if the price is right. That is just something that time will tell. If they last 2 years then I think they are well worth it.

I know they're high priced, but they look awfully cool. I know I want a pair. Honestly, I think that any type of uniform behooves an arborist to seperate himself/herself from the sea of honyocks. Show your customers that they're purchasing a superior service by looking the part. I'll also need some shoulder pads with tassles.

I do allot of maintenance on all the trucks at work and I can't tell you how many nice pairs of pants I've trashed from spilling oil on them. If those pants resist stains as well as they say they do I would think they would pay for themself in the long run.

I bought reg.heavy arborwear at serria trading post for 25.oo a peace for christmas .they felt good in the willow oaks i was pruning today.they do last me two years.i think they are best for the money.

I wear mine in the summer for non chainsaw work and for comp climbing. They are great and are lasting well. Better than arborwear tech pants IMO. Heavy weight arbor pants are good too for rough work, stump grinding and vehicle maintenance etc, but for climbing, hedge trimming etc the strethairs are the best. Mine were free though so I'm biased!!

i have a pair too. they will out last anything else imo...that schoeller fabric is super tough. someone mentioned them being tight. at first they do feel tight till you get used to them, thats just how they fit, they are tight but at the same time dont prohibit movement at all.
they look extremely cool, they dont stain, they last a long time....and the chicks love em, well worth the money imo

they do stain just not as bad as other trousers, my last pair were 18 months old though. they keep going.

my new ones are tighter with NO back Pocket!!!!

Jamie

are you referring to the old trousers staining jamie? the new ones are different, they have something called nanosphere technology. mine arent stained.

i like the fine details they put into their trousers....little things like the zips pulling up to undo. makes a lot of difference to how much sawdust you go home with in your pockets. less sawdust in your pockets=less sawdust in the house=happier missus=more nookie
its a win win situation.

my old redones came with some nano tech stuff so the label said, they never stained really badly just enough to dicolour them, most of it washed out however.

still happy just i want a back pocket

They look too tight. I think if someone can see Mr. Potato Head in the pants, they are too tight.

Don't you all think the prices are inflated? I mean, when it comes down to the fiber clothing makers use a handfull of different fibers. Such as, cotton, polyester, acrylic, nylon, spandex, etc... I find that usually the "wicking" type is polyester.---Simply that.

For example click this link. Long Sleeve Shirt They say, "Pearl Izumi's Facet mock turtleneck is made of Kodiak UltraSensor® -- a highly thermal fabric with great moisture transfer properties and superior insulation." What is Kodiak UltraSensor? Well, if you read further down it says the fabric it is 100% polyester.

So, what they are saying is they have re-defined the name "polyester" with a more creative marketing name.

Let's not be fooled by creative marketing and pay more money for a product than necessary. Don't get me wrong. I am a believer of buying quality stuff, but I don't like the play on words compnaies do to get you to buy their stuff.

If I were a clothng maker for the working man, I'd use dyneema fiber.

It has a super high burn rate, light weight and very difficult to cut. If pants were made of dyneema they would truely last a long time.

By the way. Can you guys check the inside of the Sherrill "StretchAirPants." Cany you tell me what the fabric is? Just curious. Because Sherrill doesn't tell you on the web site.
