I'll be very interested to see this thing when it comes out. I've got way too many SRT devices already, but Reg is a hell of a tree man and in my neck of the woods dealing with similar conditions, which I imagine this will be designed for.

Just consolidating the thread. Vid dropped today. 4,000 views 65 comments on same day!

Go read Reg's replies in the comments for more insight. He says it takes a deliberate effort to repel and thus it avoids accidental handle contact causing unwanted descent. Handle is bigger for comfort. "Reg designed and built." "Different feel (action) than all the other mechanicals."

Wonder where the price point is gonna be. Seems to still be in the prototype stage. Saw a reply Reg left on a YT comment that the manufacturer may make some tweaks to better facilitate the manufacturing process. No up close pics yet apparently. I find it fascinating all the different ways people come up with to solve exactly the same problem.

Someone who posts on youtube can pose, perhaps what was the intention of the added weight question, does it respond with more drag when rope tail weight/tension is added like a rope wrench does, or does it not care like the hitch hiker?

Don't let the hair fool you. Reg is a thinker :)

Aerial rescue situation? Can it support a two-man load?

Nice setup for a classic punchline there, Sean, but I’ll abstain.

2000 lbs? That’s a bit mind boggling… solo rigging lowering device? Technical rescue team applications?
