Multi-year contracts??

I'm new to multi-year contracts, and even annual contracts. I have a customer (a church) who is asking about if they sign a multi-year contract with us, if we will give discounts. I'm ALREADY giving them a great deal on their tree work as-is currently. I'd love to say yes, but I don't have any wiggle room on prices for their maintenance pruning currently as my prices are already VERY fair. What should I do?

That is one you have to decide on your own. If you cannot afford to give them a discount, perhaps explain to them that you already give them a substantial discount, and you would be happy to lock in your current pricing for several years, but you simply cannot afford to give a better discount than what you offer now.

I have done specials for volunteer orgs and churches, however I schedule on a low day or my own time (not where it will interfere with other possible bookings, and usually with them handling disposal, or at least them assisting cleanup (and I charge whatever it will cost me to dispose).

This is because I am supporting their organisation and it isn’t commerce as such. If I volunteer time (or discount charges) I will often get extra work from members of that organisation, but there’s no guarantee, and usually requires some social interaction as well...

I'd about always rather go do more technical work, than do work anyone can do, picking up sticks and putting them in a stick eater or trailer or burn pile.

Churches are just private citizens grouped together to believe in made up stuff.

They have plenty of labor. Let them safe on clean up.

Why get locked into poor paying work? How much margin do you have on their work?
