Morbark upper feed wheel removal

Anyone ever had to remove the upper feed wheel housing on a morbark? I'm guessing they're similar thru the model range but this ones a model 13 fwiw.

Seems like the housing needs to tip up at the front in order to let the feed wheel shaft drop out of the slot. There just doesn't seem to be enough wiggle room to allow this to happen.

What kinda voodoo magic do they use to put these things together?

Sorry never have had to pull either feed wheels

If you don’t have a parts manual Morbark will send you one. There’s a form on their website to fill out and they’ll send you a PDF. Just got one yesterday for my chipper. They were very responsive and I know the manual will help for some of the repairs I’ll need to make. May be helpful to figure out removal??

Thanks guys, talked to morbark yesterday and got the manual as well.
Looks fairly straightforward in the book, there just doesn't seem to be enough play to allow it to slide out the way it needs to go.
Fingers crossed one of these older guys that has been there for 20 yrs will know the trick...

Update:
Talked to the fine folks at Landmark Machinery today. They confirmed my frustration about getting these things apart. Basically it's doable, sort of.
They recommend cutting the upper part of the housing off and welding back on upon install. This is the curved piece that helps keep things in track as the feed wheel arcs thru it's range of motion. I guess it's more reliable and faster than screwing around with attempting to get it apart the "right" way.

Hopefully this helps anyone in the future having to figure this out...

Thanks for the comments about Landmark Machinery. My local dealer didn’t seem interested in helping me with a few parts. Paul, at Landmark, was great. Got the parts ordered and shipped same day

Yep, they're great to deal with. Been getting parts and knives from them for years. One day I'd love to have a chipper completely restored by them...

Old thread but voodoo magic is right! I need to replace pivot pin bushings and it sucks! I managed to finagle it so I can access the pin bushings but it’s definitely half assed. I might cut the upper housing then welding for the reassembly. Then landmark or local shop for bushings although I’m tempted to find something on McMaster Carr. Maybe they’ll have something better
