For those of you who have used or seen both in person what are the differences and is the 2.0 worth the extra price? The Velcro on my treemotion pro is crapping out and if it comes down to having to buy a new pad for it I don't want to give them more money. I use 2 shembiners 1 on either side to hold gear and help with keeping my climb line away from my gaffs and I was wondering if they will fit on their as well.
 
The biggest difference between the two is the back pads. The 2.0 is much softer and has more padding/cushioning, and the OG has a more rigid/firm back pad. The 2.0 also has an adjustment which can be used to create a tighter fit up near the lower back, and the 2.0 has elastic thigh straps, as opposed the webbing thigh straps on the OG. Other than that the saddles have the same lower suspension, side dees, and gear storage options. After spending a lot of time in both I have a slight preference for the OG..Once my 2.0 was well broken in it seemed that because of its softer back pad construction it didn't offer me as much back support as the firmer OG back pad (YMMV of coarse). It also seems that the OG might be a longer lasting saddle. You really can't go wrong with either and they are both one of the very best options out there for a working climber...

I know there are replacement parts arbsession has pads on the site I don't really want to get stuck buying a 45$ replacement pad for a 625$ saddle every 6-8 months

Vicente, before buying a new harness why not go to your local home depot and purchace some velcro. Glue one side to the conveyor side and the other to your back pad using shoe goo. I think that will be a fix. Shoe goo adheres to most surfaces like cured cement. I have access to industrial sewing so I would sew the stuff to the backpad. But shoe goo should work mint. Apply like contact cement.

I agree with Paul. You have what many consider to be the best saddle on the planet, so why not try and fix it before buying something that you may or may not like?

I will likely go with the sewing Velcro on route with this saddle as well one of the guys I work with was given 3 heavy duty commercial sewing machines and he's planning on giving me one.

Yes. With the OG you can now position any of the supplied gear storage accessories as you choose, or not use them at all and use other gear storage devices. One of my issues with the original MB was that the gear storage was affixed and I personally didn’t care for the layout. That has all been fixed and with the multiple gear slots (6-9 depending on size) you are free to put your gear right where u like it.

On another tangent but related, I find this situation happening to the TM Pro absolutely preposterous. Why change the way the pads were positioned and shape as well as how they are attached. I must have owned 10 TMs of different batches and not once has this been an issue. Never change what is not broken, without lots of thought and testing. At $625, one would think you are getting something that would be trouble free for 3 years at least before binning. I retire a harness at 3 years because it starts to lose it's support. Plus I have made so much money with it, it is time to get it replaced. At 56 comfort is priority if I want to keep doing this.
 
PS my last TM Evo, I climbed on for 5 years. But that was because I could not find an Evo. Then boom I got 2 very very slightly used on treebay. Was holding out for the DMM saddle. Which seems like the Akimbo drop. Elusive at best, hope it fears better than that for me.

The TM is Teufelbergers flagship product so they better deal with this back pad issue ASAP. If they don’t they will quickly feel it in their wallet.

It's related in a way it's what's pushing me to try a productfrom a different company. I had my tm 2018 for close to 3 years one of the guys that works with me needed a harness so I bought the tmpro and passed my 2018 on to him the 2018 has no problems with the pad staying on. I'm not the only one it's happening too there's a thread in rant and race I think seems like a very common problem.
 
Btw I have a size medium MB 1.0 that doesn’t fit me I’m willing to part with. Dm for pics and info. Only a handful of climbs in it

For sure, I bought mine in the spring and about a month ago the sides started to not stick. Washed the pad and cleaned it with a toothbrush and it still was fucked. Reached out to arbsession and they sent me a roll of replacement Velcro to put on the saddle it’s better, but it’s still not 100%. I did buy a replacement pad the new one that’s breathable and hopefully they fixed that issue although I won’t have it for another 3 to 4 weeks.
 
I'm a little late to the discussion here, but I've got the 1.0 and 2.0 and no surprise, my overall thought is both are great saddles. I find the 2 is a little more comfortable for me and has a few more adjustments I'll use from time to time, but I certainly wouldn't complain if I ever had to move 'back' to the 1.0 because it's nearly as good. The latest version has a few improvements over my 1.0 which puts it even closer to the 2.

I imagine the replacement pad will fix the issue for a little while the pad side of the Velcro is what failed on mine.
