Hey Buzzers, just want to throw out a recommendation for all. If your employer is buying oil that isn't full synthetic from a name brand like Stihl or Husqvarna please recommend they do.

I'm currently tearing apart a husky 394 and 372 from an arborist company that are 3 years old with blown bottom ends. Turns out they used menards brand 2 cycle oil...please don't treat your saws like this. When I asked the owner why he used menards brand he said because it was cheap.

The bearings didn't break, they wore out.

Also 40:1 is a decent ratio to run to prolong the life of your saws.

I dont understand trying to save a buck on oil....lots of quality oils at affordable prices.

red armor @ $3 for 2.5 gal, amsoil sabre @ $12 qt, dolmar/makita @ $2.75 for 2.5gal, jred/husky @ $3 or less for 2.5 gal. Lucas @ $8 qt

all of those options are affordable and worth the tiny bit of extra over some cheap store brand oil

I have a gas station here in town that has non-ethanol gas in all 3 grades. I only use 93 octane in all my small engines and only use husky mix oil. Worth the difference IMO.

My 25 year old saws require 91 or higher as per mfg. You ought to see what that stuff does in your vehicle too.

My 40 year old dolmar says I should use 32:1 as per mfg, but I don't. Fuel quality has changed much like oil quality has. You wouldn't have an issue running 87.
