Just fyi...you can put the 14" bar/chain on there from the top handle saw. Pulls it and oils it just fine.I just picked up milwaukee's power pruner today.
It has lots of torque so maxing the bar for large cuts is not really an issue. That comes at the cost of chain speed though. If you are doing fine pruning, the slower chain speeds will leave a somewhat rough final cut depending on species. How do you all like that top handle?
I've experienced a benefit to reduced overheating when using bigger batteries. Forge line specifically.Do bigger batteries give any more torque or less heat build up in the battery? Is a larger battery just more run time?
I’m not sure if we have any of the Forge line in the shop, but bigger batteries definitely heat less. More cells for the current draw to be spread between, therefore less heating. We do not use them for battery chainsaws, but we use a lot of other Milwaukee battery tools, including a 9 inch grinder.I've experienced a benefit to reduced overheating when using bigger batteries. Big batteries only provide more torque if the tool itself is designed to provide more power with a bigger battery (Some of the Dewalt FlexVolt tools can do that, different power levels with a 20v versus a 60v battery), if a severe undersized battery is used power would be reduced simply because the tool cannot flow sufficient power to make what it should.Aside from the overheating component, do big batteries give more torque?
I'm considering Stihl Kombisystem electric tools and have many battery options.
I don't think the battery tools will see a lot of heavy or extended use.
More like homeowner use.
I have the Kombi blower, pole chainsaw, string trimmer/ brush cutter and hedge trimmer.
Sometimes it is useful to knock down some tall grass or blackberries.
Occasional pole saw use.
The vibes and exhaust are a downside to the gas-powered kombi motor.
Can’t speak about their saws, but yes more grunt from the bigger batteries. Noticeable with their standard batteries in my table saw, superhawg and other toolsDo bigger batteries give any more torque or less heat build up in the battery? Is a larger battery just more run time?
