I got to take a snowboarding trip up there several years ago, I am from CA but have a friend from MI from an old snowboard forum that no longer exists and he would put together a group trip every year it was a great experience.

I lived up there for awhile. Such a great place. Truly way off the beaten path and unspoiled. Plus pasties.

I had a house in Au Train and loved it!
Bought it for snowmobiling but end up liking it better in the summer (2-1/2 months long)
7 hr drive and maintenance got old after 7 years
But still love it up there

I lived in Kincheloe three years (not an inmate) and Marquette for a year. I loved it too. Learned to rock climb and roller blade while in Marquette in the early 90s.

Lol. I never ice climbed but it looks interesting. I learned on the backside of Marquette Mountain in summer and then practised in the hills north of Sault, Ontario.
