Merger help

Today I purchased the name, face book page, both business phone numbers and all sold work from a friend who owned a very successful tree service company. My business is also very successful and both are about the same time in business and both are growing rapidly. So do I keep both going or merge into one. I do not want to run two crews since I'm owner operator and want to keep the quality of work as it is. Any help would be great thanks.

I did this exact thing twice...in only three years. One was a company that was around for 44 years...and another for 10 years. I would recommend going with one name. Especially if you have no plans to run a second business. If you keep two names then you will need to EIN numbers, and two insurance policies, and two payroll services to keep track of who is working for which company...its a pain.
I answer all the calls from the phone line like its the business I bought. Then I go look at the job and that is when I tell them that it is now operated as "whatever name you pick"
Honestly...no one really cares about the name of the business. They care if they were good, had a good reputation and were fair.
