I am taking a 1B prepcourse in 2 weeks. Just sent out application for the hoisting exam. Can you guys give me any insight as to what is on the test. Is it like the 2A with lots of Massachusetts general laws and hand signals?Thanx in advance

No I think what was meant is just hand signals.

I have the 1A. There were mostly crane stuff I only remember there being a couple questions on the laws.
What crane op. license or certification are you upgrading to? I am looking into cranes aerial lift who offer a course for crane operators. They come out to your facility.
In MA you have to be licensed to run almost any machine. I have my 1c 2a which covers excavators loaders and telescoping booms, but not cranes so I need to retake another test. A local guy here will come in and do a prep course so Im going to have my guys get their licenses at the same time. (He does a prep class, then we take the test somewhere not in house.)
just took the prep course in Braintree very informative taking the test at umass for 1b/4a hoisting I have prep material if you want to study
