Looking for ideas on how to store chainsaws in the shop.

Hello - I'm trying to get some ideas on how to store about 30+ chainsaws daily on our shop. Right now they go into cubby's but this is reeking havoc on the handles, gas tanks, etc. Each crew runs 2-3 top handled saws, 2 346/550/562, and 1 larger 395 or equivalent. Pictures, words, anything to get me going in a good direction would be welcome! :)

Thanks,

Matthew

Hey Matt !
Limbwalker's (Louisville, KY) and Independent Tree (Newbury, OH) both have logs, or old barn timbers, with plunge cut slots to hold the bars.
I would recommend this. It's very easy to build a tiered stand that will hold saws and you can make one size fits all.

Mount horizontal or vertical.
Hey Greg - good to hear from you!! That actually sounds like a great idea - duh!! I'll do some experimenting with different plunge patterns. Thanks for everyone's responses[emoji3]

My method isn't as good as the above mentioned plunged cut timber but I have a large carpeted shelf that babys the bottom of my saws and catches any drips.

Matt, it is always a pleasure !
Just to avoid confusion ..........
The logs can be mount horizontal of vertical.

The plunge slots are vertical.
Easier to control the saw "in-&-out".
Maybe easier on the bar for really big saws.

Be careful with that.

The right or maybe better said, the wrong combination of oil soaked cloth and petroleum products can ignite in spontaneous combustion.

Let's see if this attached. I also modeled ours off of Limbwalkers.

I love the ideas presented. One question: How about the tendency of some saws to drip bar oil. Isn't that a problem with saws being over other saws?

Or is it only me that have a few saws that leak?

Saws usually leak from the oiler area so it may make sense to slightly stagger the saws so the oilers are not directly over the saw below it.
