Lockjack mods?

I am wondering if a soft tether can be used as the connection in place of the fixed end, making a spliced loop to attach to the screw bolt with a cover on the bolt to protect the eye of the splice, so its a kind of semi swivel setup.

Tuttle, would you explain a bit on Mods! I have climbed on the Spiderjack once still didnt get a chance to do the Lockjack sport swivel, I picked up both! I have to know! So far I dont think I will ever use a rope hitch again!

I have just realised if the release tail is long enough you can prusik it above the lockjack for an Srt method, the prusik will help rotate the release upwards, causing more friction.

There may be an answer after all, using a lockjack.

The straight handle on the lockjack is replaced with a stiff tether, so the attachment point is longer, that in turn means you can put a pinto on your carabiner to act as a fairlead.
The rope is still self tending, and the pulley is a bonus for easy slack tending.

Ah so this is a Ddbl rope system? Got some reason I thought you climbed set with your lock jack.
So now you pull on the tether to descend? Does the extra length in the tether make it easier to descend, meaning less force needed?

Thanks brother. This looks like something I'm interested in for my son. Although he primary foot locks on srt. I might be able to adapt this a little bit.
His trouble isn't getting up the rope, its coming back down. He still doesn't have enough weight to make a very good descend on any means we've tried so far.
I'm thinking the lockjack could be easily slid up the rope just like his Blake but just on a Dbld rope. What do you think? This would also always give him the same sit down position as its hardware tie instead of depending on the bride length between him and the Blake every time he ties his split tail. Or am I reading to much into what can be done here?

Yo echo I breezed over this thread and noticed your boy is climbing on Blake's . Try him on hitch climber with a vt , xt , or michcaon, coopers . He will do good with a short bridge on that id bet. my 7 year old boy does better with a setup like that verse Blake's right now.

ddrt yes, the longer tether is good because you can tie different knots at different positions, and your hand is closer holding boths rope, the extra length offers more leverage, so its a smoother ride.
I'd like to see this rig in action looks pretty rad.
