3 smartest thing I ever did in my life-
Marry my beautiful wife.
Drop out out school in 9th grade and go to a logging camp in Alaska.
Buy my first home.....It was super scary and $150,000 seemed like soooo much money at the time... We just keep waking up everyday, going to work, and paying off our mortgage as quickly as possible. Along the way we keep saving when we could and never did something as silly as taking any equity out of the home. Next thing you know it was 18 yrs later and our little bungalow was worth $550,000-$600,000 more than we payed for it...Sold our beautiful little bungalow, took that money and created our dream......

We just closed on our first house. Epic amount of stress. It's almost like moving out from your parents house for the first time, "ooh I don't have to ask if I can tear down that wall"... We have be here for nearly 3 months, and it's just starting to sink in. It's a trip for sure, wish I would have started earlier, but with our needs and the family we had to go for the long haul.

Congratulations! I bought my first about 6 years ago, and it was a bit scary, but it’s turned out well. Get a good loan with a lender you like, and pay it off early. You’ll save an incredible amount of money if you do that.

I did the same, but the Alaska and logging part. My pops did it at about 8-9 during the war. The woods were safer than his home.
You must have progressed much quicker in school than myself Stan cause I was 15 going on 16 when I was in 9th grade, but I rode a different bus to school than the normal kids, and helmets were not optional on my bus... Maybe thats where my aversion to helmets started?
It wasn't some much wherewithal as necessity...I would loved to have stayed in school, banged my prom date, and had the chance to go to college on a football scholarship, but the home scene wasn't gonna allow that to happen....
