Just a heads up so you all can start collecting your pennies.

Been here much more than a while
Location
Roslyn, Pa.
There is a good chance that in the next few months I will downsize considerably. To much effort and red tape to make my adventure worth it. I will still rec climb and do simple stuff for family but a lot of my stuff will just not be needed anymore at that point.

You guys that have been here awhile know I own way to much stuff for a one man crew. It will be sad day as it approaches but I am hoping to go back to a time when I enjoyed this stuff.

Hate to hear about the downsizing. Prayers for everything to work out the way you want it too!
Do you have a list yet of what you may be selling off?

Not yet, I need to do an inventory, make the list, take photos. The big ticket items will be pick up only probably. GRCS, Wraptor, 90's maybe Bandit 200 chipper, Arb Trolley, some saws and so on. I will probably keep the Dingo and attachments but you never know. Lots of other stuff but most of that could be shipped for reasonable price.

It's going to take a while to make the list. I am also going to let my local Arb friends know who aren't on the Buzz. I have worked with a few and meet many. Many of them have taught me skills and shared jobs.

Following this, even though I am not doing tree work anymore, I still use stuff and and a basically down the road from you compared to the rest of the world so pickup is not an issue(over in Norristown area).

Thanks for all well wishes and concerns on here and in PM's. Let me fill in some of the blanks on why.

I am well as are all of my family members.
Everyone I have meet in this field has been great. Nobody screwed me over lol.
My customers always paid. None of them are suing me or are unhappy.
I am not struggling to make ends meet. Although thanks for the offers.
I still have my full time job. Been in the same trade 38 years and still love it.

The reason for downsizing is really a simple matter of my time vs my reward. You guys all know the time it takes to stay compliant with all the requirements. All the time and paperwork involved with quotes and taxes. You guys that have made this your trade/buisness unfortunately have to do all this. I don't, I chose to go through all this so I could get Insurance to cover my customers incase something went wrong. If I could have figured out a way to have business insurance without actually being a business I would have done that instead.

I started climbing for exercise and it was fun. It has morphed into a job, I already have one of those. I will still be active and hope to still lend a hand to my local guys even though I think I get more from them they they get from me lol.

Thanks once again though for all the concerns. You guys are one of the reasons I enjoy climbing.

It was fun and interesting to watch your hobby/side job evolve. I doubt you've ever been accused of half-assing a thing, you really went balls deep!

But never went in over his head. He knew when his operation needed help. And that is the downfall of so many small guys, not knowing when to call in reinforcements.
I have enjoyed working with Frank and watching him grow. It was always amazing to see his little part time operation picking up equipment like the big guys. Shoot he has more toys than I do, and I’m 5-6 days a week. He is absolutely correct though at some point you do become a slave to what you have built. Work, estimates and paperwork just to stay compliant, right now I’ve been working dawn to dusk and paperwork at night.... questioning the whole way... is it worth it?
Frank I certainly hope we can find projects to continue working together as it’s always been fun. Hope to see you this afternoon!

Thanks Frank and @TheCraneManInc and @miketeti getting the GRCS to me in Charlotte !

I was able to purchase Franks arbor trolley and some rigging and climbing gear. He is a great guy who truly loves this Industry. Thanks frank for all the good deals! Hopefully we can catch up again soon

Is that GRCS in a pelican case? Looking for a case for ours we just bought. That looks nice!
Husky from Home Depot, as @flyingsquirrel25 stated, it’s by far the best case for a GRCS, we used it the other day and the wheels are great, went over bumpy terrain. My other GRCS is in a plastic tote with no wheels and awkward and heavy to lug around, I’ll be buying another case like this for it soon!

With the wraptor it acts as a cool little gear caddy too! Everything go over the extension handle or on it and away you go!!!!

Yes it looks like a husky tool box. I busted mine in the first month, rolling it and hit a bump. The weight blew a hole through the bottom by the axle. Also it’s huge, and clunky to lift solo into the truck.

I replaced it with two smaller ones, handle and mounting plate in one. Bollard and winch in other. There is extra space in each for straps, ropes etc. only bummer is the breaker bar won’t fit by a long shot
