ITCC Volunteer

Cory,
I'm not moving, although I like Louisville.

After volunteering for 3 ITCC’s (& 45 chapter TCC's) I was rejected as a volunteer for Toronto this year because I was not an ISA member.
I am just a rec climber; not a professional arborist.

It seems that ISA ITCC is now requiring volunteers to be ISA members, in ADDITION to the volunteer:
- spending SEVERAL $1000 in travel & living.
- donating 4 - 6 days for travel, setup & comp.

ISA membership has been required for competitors.

However, I was not aware of any requirement for volunteers.

Apparently, sons, daughters, wives/husbands, etc. of members can volunteer without direct membership.
Therefore my assessment is that it is not a reasonable insurance issue.

If any relatives are allowed, it can not be a competency issue.

This spring at the NAmTCC, I was appointed to be “Safety Monitor” for the climber’s practice trees on the day before the competition. (3 trees in 2 rings)

Oh Well ......... ;-(
It is their party !

HA! I did ask didn't I? We are always taking resumes. I think that you'd be under qualified in some regards and over qualified in others!

Tastefully Stated. ;-)

sounds like your are understanding . part of my point on the thread "maybe" not just the climbers have to be minimized , the judges too . There has to be a fish hook out there for stihl or Husky to grab this event because it is a broke persons country club . What can you get for nothing ? Seen that . no one has balls but throw balls . Afraid the climbers will be the focal point? , not the science . Please , time for the TCIA and The ISA to stop with the back slap and attta boy attitude to the climbers , ( and volunteers ) . Better hope I don't win the mega millions tonight . Besides my new home . I'd make this event worth it , unlike the sponors now , self righteous how can I help me !

You know I am right ! afraid to say . , because like it will come down on you . Bully's are bully's , Tcia , Itcc, IsA , judging too many , for the "slightel" .not title . Complete bullsh*t . unfair , international event .
