ITCC 2010 tree pruning

The Illinois Arborist Association has re-scheduled the ITCC tree pruning for Thursday July 8, 2010 at 8:00AM in the Daffodil Glade section of the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. There are approximately 60 trees to safety prune.
We need climbers and groundspersons. I met with the ISA staff and Davey Tree staff yesterday at Daffodil Glade, and the ground conditions are very wet. Aerial tower trucks will most likely not be able to drive off road. More details later.
Please post or PM me if you are available to help.
Thank you.

Norm, I'm not able to physically come out and help, but as one of the organizers of last year's two pruning projects at Roger Williams Park, I would like to offer my sympathy to you as the organizer of this event.

...Just kidding, we had a blast! ALOT of work, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Norm & Tom,

Many thanks & a great deal of respect to both of you for your efforts !

My guess it that most competitors (and many volunteers) don’t understand the organizational skills, commitment & time required to make a chapter TCC, let alone the ITCC, successful.

In my brief history, it’s been a pleasure, to have a small association with ya’ll.

Sorry, but I can't make it to the pruning.

Greg

Sorry we can't help with the pruning! But, will be there for Friday Setup and Event day. Can't afford two trips to Chicago at this point. Good luck!!

Norm if I can get off of work can i come and help?

Or is there an age limit?

Thanks guys. When you get to The Morton Arboretum through the main entrance, tell the parking atttendant you are there to help prune the trees for the ISA and they won't charge you the parking fee. From there Daffodil Glade is about 3/4's of a mile drive to the West.

Hey Norm, I will help out, do you need anything equipment wise?

Thank you Paul. We might need some ext. ladders. I think it's going to be too wet for any motorized equipment to drive on the turf. We should have enough trucks and chippers to chip the brush. Some of the brush drags could be up to 100 yards, but we are only safety pruning (2" dead and larger, no thinning cuts), so there won't be any small brush.

Norm when I go to weather.com I see thursday saying scattered t-storms...If i come I will be coming all the way from Green Bay and will have to stay overnight in a hotel...the scattered t-storm is making me question it a lot I dont want to drive all the way down there and have it get cancelled again.
