iPhone for communication?

With all the abundance of iPhone connected Bluetooth headphones with microphones some must’ve used them for work.
Any recommendations? Useful stories?
It’s hard to me to believe it’s only SENA and nothing else.

I’ve seen the crane company we use, utilizing iPhone/air pods so the crane op can communicate with his spotter/rigger.

AirPods drive me nuts. I’ve called crane operators using my sena linked to my phone. The AirPods pick up everything, worse than sena mics. I can barely hear the operators most of the time.

I can’t weigh in on that. It seems to work for them at least. We keep a sena headset for the crane operator to link up with me, and it works really well(when we finally get them “paired” up). They use the AirPods so the op can talk with spotter, it actually works out really nice for crane jobs to have their spotter and myself in communication. I agree though, I usually always put my phone to my ear for phone calls, but when the person on the other line has me on speaker or some other hands free device, the sound quality is shit.
