Invasive bush honeysuckle that grow into size of trees

Location
NJ
I plan to plant some native trees in place of invasive bush honeysuckle.

1. Is it possible that the smaller branches we put through a wood chipper and use as mulch sprout on the ground?
2. Is it safe to use larger pieces (once seasoned) in a fireplace?

1. Probably not but you can dip in an herbicide solution to be safe, I assume you will be treating the stumps. I do this when removing multi flora rose, but those usually get put into piles for the brush cutter and rarely through the chipper.
2. I could see no problem with this. I have a piece in my basement that fused with a grapevine that I was planning on making a walking stick.

Honeysuckle makes good firewood

Don’t burn mulberry, Russian Olive or buckthorn if anyone is expected to smell the smoke. They all smell like a variation of wet hound dog....peeyouuuuu!
