In-tree throw line

So, update.

Change of focus somewhat, sorry but...

After getting some sleep (not much) I find myself rested, but frustrated. Let me explain. Night before last, (as I mentioned), I was playing around making whoopie slings out of the kite line I have, to hang my camping tarp, this turned into a marathon night of experimentation and testing. This happens to me sometimes ..(need to get some flowers for the girlfriend...). Though, by the end I had many new ideas, and new directions to take other projects, ALL of that has now been put aside! I am now on a quest!!...

Let me explain some more...

After many hours of 'playtime' I found I had lost focus, having already achieved what I was trying to do, I then took a relatively successful mechanically aided whoopie sling tensioning 'thing' I was working on, and started 'Munter hitching' on rings and passing loops through loops. etc... ( There was even a marlin spike hitch using a nail, (but I realised I could do the same over a ring,) ... I have the memory of knowing what I was doing. I had something, so chucked it on the end of the tarp and gave it a pull, I noticed something strange!.. Once I had stopped pulling the system continued to pull, a little bit.... I pulled again some more, the system pulled again!..but more this time! I pulled again but it had reached it's limit and didn't move. I was pretty amazed by the tension that was on the line. I twanged it and got quite a high note! (couldn't say which as am now tone death from using chainsaws back when they were 'less dangerous for your health') Feeling like the king of all things 'Dyneema' .....at this point I should have taken a photo... I decided to make another system but inverted/'left handed' and did so straight off the bat!! as I said, I had the impression that I knew what I was doing. It was a 'bit' like when Neo sees the matrix!!! (..I guess, I think it was probably more due to all the coffee and butter sandwiches I had taken) I then cats cradled the thing to the other side of the first and again chucked in on my tarp n pulled. It pulled AGAIN once I had stopped pulling, pulled again, same, but much more pronounced! Without considering the consequences for the tarp, cupboard doors, or supporting wall I pulled to the maximum I could before it hurt my hands (cord is only 1.5mm) I stepped back and watched 'the web' proceed micro-meter by micro-meter to pull the kitchen cupboard door off its screws!!!!!...(at almost a 90 degree angle to fixation!!!) I WAS SO AMAZED I didn't move till cord and rings pinged all over the kitchen and the door hit the floor!!! What had I created??!!!... I wasn't thinking about how strong my tarp was (50 quid for a tarp I SHOULD be able to use it as a trampoline!) I wasn't thinking about how strong this little 1.5mil cord is (awesome by the way...) NEITHER was I thinking about my girlfriend who was about to wake up to go to work and find me all red eyed and wired!..(in retrospect I should have been,) Neither was I thinking of practical applications like stump pulling or lifting fallen comrades out off crotches, no. I was imagining jumping into trees using 'steampunk style' strength augmenting exo-suites made from ropes, pulleys and whoopie slings!..(again,coffee+butter sandwiches..)
I decided to go to bed with a head FULL of ideas and ...coffee! I was welcomed into the bedroom to "what the fu€" have you just done?!!!.." Coming from my yawning better half. I said " you should know, creativity has it's costs!!"...(it's her house and cupboard door by the way,...should've thunk all this through a bit better...) and, leaving every bit of cord and kit where it was, so I could pick up where I had left off, i went straight to sleep.

...woke up and everything was gone,... tidied into the bin!..."NO!" (+ a note saying "I had made her 45 minutes late with this shit!" and that "it's the LAST TIME!")... I fished out what I could but 'the web' was gone! I went to work but knew I had already 'lost' the concept! I wasn't, in fact, Neo... Got back from a very unproductive day at work (mind elsewhere) and have now passed 4 hours trying to reproduce 'the web'... I can't.

...now, I'm not on here looking for relationship advice, (she just needs to get to know me better...) but, I'm quite an avid follower of 'science' (in NO way academic..) but it's my understanding that a 'system' can't produce more energy than is put into it in the first place...(second law of thermo-something-or-other!) but the whoopie-web' I made the other night seemed to defy this!

Anyone out there with more experience of these things, as I am FAR from an 'expert' on anything, please point me in the right direction!! ...sorry to ramble on!!

...hunt for the holy grail begins!!..

I know you said you can't recreate that, but you are going to have to, but film it this time. ;) I have no idea what you just described...something about a whoopied web pulling doors off cupboards. Sounds cool, but I need to see a video or something. Maybe a diagram...

If I could describe what I made I would be a millionaire!. (Or at least out of the middle spot in the truck so to speak!)

... As I said "holly Grail!.."
