Trying out this!..

It's kite line, used for kite surf n such. Here it is next to the same length of Zing-it!!:

...and it runs smooth as silk, even when twisted!

This is what I call my 'Little Shot' for using in-tree. Just a cut-off end of a key chain carabiner secured with some constrictor hitches using throwline.

I think the skinny line is Dyneema. Check out kite supply companies for the little line.

To girth hitch the throwbag to the small stuff I tied a mouse ear sized loop so that I can grip it with gloves on.

No idea!.. As I said, smooth as silk, and cold to the touch if that helps. Inherited from a kite surfing gear junkie changing up his kit ..(for the second time so far this year!)

They also come with small stitched eyes, too small to girth over a bag, but can girth/lark's tail a small utility biner no prob!
Is it dyneema?

That's awsome! I tried with the chalk line setup, never took to it, couldn't get enough line on to be usefull! I'll try to post some pics of the system I'm working on!... Once my homemade-fold-away micro arborist's grappling hook with incorporated neodymium magnet is finished!

...(Gotham, I am almost ready...)

Intrigued!!...

What's the rubber section for??

What's the rubber section for??

Think of this as a sort of bow and arrow setup. The tubing takes the place of the bow.

The throwbag is hooked over the cutoff biner and pulled back like an arrow. The other end of the throwline is tied onto the end of the old Big Shot tubing. Pull and release. It has about a 30' horizontal range.

Please!! Demo pics/vids!

I'm imagining a kind of rubber band over finger n thump, pinging a paper clip kind of thing!!?.

...ahh! I see now what you've done there! Nice!

When I first configured the Little Shot I was concerned that I would whack my left hand that was holding the end of the tubing. I never have...knock on wood! I do try to keep my left hand down a little. think of where your hand is on the Y of a Wrist Rocket or slingshot just to be a little out of the line of fire.

At first I thought the rubber acted like a stick to get over nubs and such, but I like the "little shot" concept. I'll have to try it. I've been setting my TIP lower and advancing it as needed to save time getting in the tree. I DDRT, so I like to get the perfect TIP; but that takes way tooooo long, especially on Mondays

Why didn't I ever think of the chalk line. I've got a red, blue and green in my shop filled with chalk, and a new one in the package hanging 2 feet from my vise where I sharpen all my chains...

Is it dyneema?
... It turns out it is!!

After MUCH research/(YouTube) ...
I have discovered the world of dyneema "whoopie slings" & "soft shackles"!

So far, I have been up all night, and have made 10 'thing-ma-jigs', ALL with amazing (and sometimes surprising) effects!
The first of which changed my view of how fast laces can be tied/tightened, the last of which has just pulled my kitchen cupboard door CLEAN OFF whilst testing a wats-it configured with mechanical advantage!!!!

Most of the stuff online seems to be about using these things to hang hammocks and tarps and the like, ("that's COOL!"... I'm on that already with mine!) ... But the more I play around with the low profile, solid progress capture and slick no-bind release of these things (albeit on a small scale, nothing bigger than 4mm for now,) and introducing rings, mini biners & 'loads' of other crap!..(see photo at bottom,) the more I feel that camping is only touching the surface of what might be possible!!

...I'm thinking 'doubled/tripled whoopie lanyards, adjustable whoopie rope bridges...etc, etc... (And don't get me started on soft shackles!!!)

...now I must try to get some sleep.

...but I just can't stop makin' whoopie'!!!

Please chime in with some/any 'focusing' input.
